Multiple Meals Will Maximize Weight Loss
A lot of people trying to lose weight think that the best way to do so is by eating only a few meals a day and severely restricting their caloric intake.
The truth about trying to lose weight is that you have to keep your fire burning in order to constantly lose weight through out the day. If your body senses that food is becoming scarce then it will order your metabolism to slow down and go into a survival mode. This is not ideal for weight loss.
When you are on a weight loss plan you need to make sure that you are consuming the required amount of calories for your body. In order to do this you are going to have to consume multiple meals through out the day.
These meals aren’t going to be the same size as your traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your calories will have to be spread out throughout the day so you can incorporate them into 5 or 6 evenly spread meals/ snacks.
Since your goal is weight loss, your schedule will look something like this:
- Breakfast
- Snack
- Lunch
- Snack
- Dinner
- Snack
You should try to make sure that you have 2.5 to 3 hours in between each meal or snack and that your last snack is consumed at least 2 hours before you go to bed.
The idea behind these multiple meals is to make sure that you have plenty of energy and that you never let yourself get to the point of extreme hunger. If you are only slightly hungry then you won’t feel compelled to consume more calories than you need.
So when trying to lose weight the best thing you can do is consume smaller meals through out the day. Even though you are doing this you should not be consuming more calories then you need. It is extremely important that you stick to your daily caloric intake otherwise you won’t shed a pound.
Agreed, Ania! Research has proven that multiple small meals assists in weight loss. It all has to do with the “thermic effect of food”.
